Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply Tints of Nature natural hair dye on coloured hair?

Yes. You can apply Tints of Nature home hair dye on coloured hair, as long as the previous hair dye product did not contain metals or henna powder. If your current hair dye contains lead, acetate, zinc, iron or copper please wait at least one month before applying Tints of Nature.

Can I use Tints of Nature natural hair dye whilst I am pregnant?

Yes, we recommend waiting until after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy before applying any dye or to consult your doctor beforehand.

Our Henna Cream Semi-Permanent shades are better alternatives to use whilst pregnant, or alternatively highlighting your hair or not directly applying dye to your scalp can reduce any possible riks or reactions.

Please note any chemicals used are only absorbed by your hair and not by your scalp or bloodstream. ALWAYS remember your sensitivity test to ensure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients used, including the lovely natural ones! Find out here how to carry out a skin test.

Can Tints of Nature natural hair dye be used whilst undergoing chemotherapy?

At Tints of Nature we do not recommend using our home hair dyes if you are undergoing chemotherapy, radiothearpy or other forms of health treatment. If you do wish to dye your hair with our home hair dye please consult with your doctor before applying and ALWAYS carry out a skin sensitivity test. Finished treatment? Again consult with your doctor beforehand. If your scalp is irritated or damaged or your hair is very weak or brittle we advise not to dye your hair. If you wish to dye your hair we would recommend using our Henna Cream Semi-Permanent haircolour for a few months, so your hair has time to rebuild it's natural strength and health. Please ALWAYS remember your skin sensitivity and strand test!

Can I use any remaining colour for my next application?

If you have already mixed all of the Colourfix and Colour Gel together, please use this immediatley and any remaining colour should be disposed of. If you have re-touched your roots or mixed small quantities and you have remaining unmixed Colourfix and Colour Gel left in the bottle, store away in a cool place away from direct sunlight to use again.
